Topics: Russia's modernization efforts and institutions involved in building national innovation system (Rusnano, RVC and Skolkovo), Globalization of Russian VC market, why RVC thinks it's so important for Russian technology businesses to be integrated into global economy. Potential for collaboration in the development of high-tech innovations. Speaker's background: Currently, the CEO of the state fund of funds - the Russian Venture Company - with a working capital of over to 650 million GBP and chaired by the Minister of Economic Development of Russian Federation. Since 1991, Igor Agamirzyan has been working in close partnership with MICROSOFT, eventually reaching a position of Chief Strategy Officer within the Cabinet of the Chairman of Microsoft in Russia and CIS Countries in 2005. Igor Agamirzyan is a member of the Council of SKOLKOVO Innovation Fund and is also a Special Advisor to UN on ICT issues and security. Igor Agamirzyan has graduated from the Leningrad State University with a degree in applied mathematics in 1979, and used to hold the position of Chief Research Officer at Leningrad Institute of Informatics until 1992. Actively works to support Russian ICT developments and headed a Russian research ICT program-developing company EMC in 2007.
