RBS:

Founded in 2004 with the original aim to promote awareness of Russian business and politics among LSE students

Over 700 members in a direct newsletter reach (more than 60% are LSE students from CIS)

Partnership with 8 top universities’ Russian societies including UCL, Imperial and Kings, with an access to their members

In addition to student members there is a growing amount of professionals from the city joining Russian Business Society

Partnership with Pushkin House, Russo-British Chamber of Commerce and other organisations giving an ultimate reach to more than 3000 people in UK interested and connected to Russia

A dedicated and motivated steering committee of 10 people and a well-structured organisation
Aims:

Organise Business and Politics oriented lectures, presentations and receptions in order to give students, media and academics an insight into Russia

Organise recruiting events for both Western and Russian companies aimed at Russian speaking students

Promote Russian culture among students and academics in Universities

Objectives for the 2010/2011 Academic Year:
Events:
- Recruiting events with leading Banks, Consulting, Accounting and Law firms both from Russia and the UK focusing on opportunities for Russian speakers and students/professionals with good knowledge of CIS countries
- A series of Immigration Advise and General Advise events to foster the career prospects of our members
- LSE Russian Business Week (Future Leadership Conference)
- Networking events
Entertainment Events:
Various meetings and outings in London Invitations to Russian Balls in London A reception at Pushkin House Concerts
Sports Events:
We are going to organise football matches with many societies in LSE, Oxford University, City University and Cambridge University
Marketing strategies:
- Via our advanced interactive website with all our news, events, our sponsors news, business forecasts etc.
- Publishing of weekly Russian news summaries on both website and on mailing list
- Cooperate closely with BBC Russia, RIA Novosti and RussiaToday
- Close cooperation with both Pushkin House and RBCC, to inform the entire Russian business community about our events
